Irving Roosburg studied Bestuurlijke Informatica (Executive Information Science) at the University of the Netherlands Antilles. He worked at the Tax Collector Office as Chief Automation, while advising the Tax Directorate on ICT issues. From 1998-2000 he was the Millennium Project Manager of the Government of Curaçao while being advisor to the Lt. Governor of Curaçao on Millennium issues of the community.
In 2002 he has been appointed as the Information Manager of the Government of Curaçao. Beside striving for standardizing, structurizing and bringing down costs, he is a firm believer that the government should not be restricted or bounded by anyone to communicate with its citizens; usage of open standards and open source software (OSOSS) may be the keys to that. As a community facilitator, the government should actively promote awareness and use of OSOSS.
